Newpark Town Center kicks off its new Free Thursday Night Concert Series on June 23, 2011. Held weekly from 6:00-8:00 pm, Newpark’s Thursday Night Concerts are free and open to the pubic. To see the feature line-up, visit Events:
A tribute to local emergency service personnel will be held on August 25, 2011 with two bands: Patwa (featuring local fire firefighter Colin Higgans) and Marinade. Kids will have the chance to explore police cars, fire trucks and ambulances, and get to know the men and women in uniform. Newpark strives to be the community’s concert venue; the tribute to local emergency service crews, including the Sheriff, Police, Fire Department, Hospital and 911 Emergency really reinforces Newpark’s commitment to the community.
The concert series will culminate on September 1st with Blues Music Award Female Artist of the Year and Grammy nomination recipient, Ruthie Foster.
The Newpark Amphitheater is conveniently located in Kimball Junction, off highway 224, in the heart of the Newpark Town Center. Newpark welcomes concert-goers to dine onsite at the various restaurants or bring coolers and enjoy picnics with their families and friends, but discourages glass. The Newpark concerts are privately funding by the Newpark Owners Association, a non-profit organization, and the Newpark neighborhood residents, shops, restaurants, and businesses.
